I’m sure there have been more miserable days, but yesterday was pretty miserable.
My mood changed yesterday. It went from being quite content with Winter to being a bit disgruntled with it. Winter turned into work yesterday.
So far this year, I have been having a pretty good time. Every time it snows, I say, “Oh good, I get to use the snow blower again.” There’s a little something to making a nice carving of where deep snow used to be. It makes a guy feel worthwhile every so often.
Well, yesterday it kind of rained and snowed. It sleeted. I think that’s what it did. Or it freezing rained. I’m now making up words, but you get the picture. Gone was the fluffy white snow and here was the heavy wet muck.
A few days ago, I began my attempt at cleaning off the roof. There are areas up there that are over a foot deep. If the snow stays light and the sun shines, there generally isn’t a problem. Trouble finds us when it rains after a heavy snow. The weight on the roof can become unbearable for the structure and things can easily take a turn for the worse. I’m sure you’ve all heard the reports of roofs collapsing. I am confident in the roof we live under, but being the proactive person I am, I like to be sure.
I’ll talk about that in the next post. For now, here’s an ugly picture of yesterday.
