We’ve Got the Cleanest Cars This Side of Maine

May 3, 2018

I just had to document this. I don’t wash the cars that much, but when I do, it goes on the blog. Today the temperature reached a whopping 87 degrees. It may have actually been higher, but who’s counting? A few days ago, I read that it was forecast to reach 80 degrees, so I guess that was slightly off. The weird thing is, the neighbor still has a pile of snow over at his house. Do you know how strange it is to see snow on the ground while it’s so hot outside?

Anyway, our cars managed to get all sorts of dirty this winter. We really need to run them through the car wash every so often. I have trouble going through with that though because the roads are generally filthy all winter long and I think it’s a waste of money to wash something that’s just going to get dirty again while pulling out of the car wash parking lot. I mean, really.

Today was just too good to pass up though. Since I hadn’t yet hooked up the hose to the outside spigot (or sillcock for you purists), I figured I would do that and then fill a bucket with some soap and water. And wouldn’t you know, right after that, I grabbed a huge sponge and began washing the sedan. One thing turned into another and Laura was pulling the truck closer to the house so I could wash that too. It’s strange, any time she gets a chance to drive that truck, she takes it. It is really very fun to drive something so large. Personally, I love being high up like that. If I had it my way, I’d drive that thing all the time.

Here’s an interesting photo of the car after it dried and I pulled it into the garage. I think I like this picture.

And here’s a picture of the truck after it was washed. I can tell you that every time I wash this truck, I’m reminded of how large it really is. My arm gets tired from all that sponging.

I’m feeling very satisfied after a long day’s work. I did so much inside and outside today. Perhaps it was the sunshine and the warmth, but I really got a lot done. A truck repair, three blog posts, general work in between, a long walk, guitar practice and some other things I’m forgetting. It’s all very rewarding. It makes me want to eat a big dinner and go to bed, so that’s what I think I’ll do. Good night everyone and thanks for reading!
