I was talking to a good buddy two nights ago when I mentioned that I wanted to visit Roquefort, France. Not for the scenery, but for the cheese.
My other good buddy got me hooked on Roquefort a few years ago. Now it’s the only pungent cheese I eat. If you haven’t tried it, head out to your favorite upscale market today and pick some up. Just beware, it’s expensive.
The reason Roquefort is so special is due its creation process. I won’t reinvent the wheel, so please feel free to learn about it here:
Roquefort -Making the King of Cheese
Once you’re done with that, read this article entitled, “Roquefort, France: Where the blue blood of blue cheeses lives.” It’s another well written and inspirational read.
In my Malta Cliff Diving post, I mentioned that I would like to travel for very specific reasons. I don’t plan to do the sightseeing, I plan to shake a hand, smoke a pipe, eat some cheese, jump a cliff or whatever. It’s the small things I’d like to remember.
