Keeping with the theme of world travel, I decided that I would share a desire of mine to visit the Apulia region of Italy, not for the scenery, but for the olive oil.
I was introduced to the beauty of olive oil when I was around 20 years old. A friend of mine brought me to a restaurant and explained that absorbing good olive oil into good bread and experiencing it was a much better alternative to buttering the bread and eating it. After I tried it, I agreed and through the years, I have been excitedly tasting the variety of olive oils that have been placed in front of me at a variety of restaurants. It’s a pastime both my friend and I enjoy very much.
As I mentioned in previous posts, I would like to visit a growing list of locales in anticipation of observing or enjoying what makes them famous. Whether it’s cliff diving in Malta, tasting fresh cheese in Roquefort, or sipping olive oil in Italy, I’m excited by the prospects.
