I’m going to tell you, it’s not easy. All I am trying to do right now is change my last name and trying to figure out which account profile to do this in is a chore.
I think I found it – I have to change the last name in GMail. I just haven’t logged out and back in yet. We’ll see how that goes.
Update: No, I had to go into the Google+ account and click “Edit Profile.” That seemed to do it. Seems like Google is positioning everything around Google+.
What I really want to do with Google+ is two things. I want to have a button in the side of my blog that allows visitors to join one of my circles and I also want to have a Google page where I can post my blog entries to. Kind of like I do on Facebook, but over on a Google page.
But first, check out this video on how to use Google+.
How to use Google+
I figured out how to add the follow button in my sidebar. All I have to do was make sure I was logged into my Google account and follow this link. From there, I could customize a badge to put in a widget in my sidebar. Easy enough.
Now, to get that Google+ page up and running.
To create a Google+ page, you need to follow this link and choose the correct option. It’s kind of like creating a Facebook page. I followed the steps and created the page. Now, in the upper right corner, I can click on my profile and switch back and forth between my regular Google+ page and my Gaulard Blog Google+ page I just created. I can now show my posts over on this page as well, to expand to a wider audience. Build my circles and do what I do. I can also create more pages for any brand I want. It’s fairly simple.
I know this was an extremely choppy post. I was working on setting things up as I was writing, so I apologize. If you have any questions, please ask in the comment section below and I’ll reply.
