I recently decided to stop outsourcing my blog feed control as well as the “read by email” feature. It’s amazing where one finds one’s blog posts out there on the vast internet. It’s like, “Gee, I didn’t know some 90 year old guy in Singapore wrote that. I thought I did. But there are no links back to my blog…Oh, I get it, they are a spammer running an automated bot that goes out and steal people’s content.”
The reason I stopped using the feed service and decided to go back to the original feed feature that comes with the blog software is that I have more control over who uses the feed and where it goes. When you let another service control that, you lose those two options.
Unfortunately, by doing this, I also lose the option of emailing my posts out to my faithful readers. I was getting up there in readership too. I’m sorry, but I gotta do what I gotta do.
Soooo, if you currently read my posts by feed reader, kindly update your URL to use the new (or original) feed URL. It can be found by clicking the huge “RSS” button to the right. The other feed will be cut off tomorrow.
