I wanted to make a post that documents where we are in the bud and bloom cycle here in central Connecticut in late April. I do this quite a bit, but usually just as a reminder of where we’ve been in past years. It helps when I’m wondering what the heck is going on.
I think this year is late. Actually, I know it’s late. It’s been a chilly Spring so far and I’m not seeing nearly as much activity as we normally see. Back in 2010, the Cleveland Pear trees were almost in full bloom at this point. Right now, mere flower buds. The Daffodils are going nuts though – I’m starting to find rows and clusters of them all over the place, but as far as the trees go, almost nothing doing.
Below are a few pictures of what I was able to get yesterday. It was breezy again, so you know how that goes. Set the camera up, wind, set it up again, wind. Walk away, the wind stops.
