I began working on this (garage) side of the house earlier than I normally would. Around noon, the sun starts to hit it and if there’s one thing I don’t want to be working in, it’s the sun. Not around here anyway. I knew I needed to get this side painted quickly.
You should have seen me. I pressure washed the living hell out of this wall. As you can see from the photos below, some genius thought it would be a good idea to let their irrigation system spray the side of the house. Result? Iron stains all over the place. To their credit though, most of this side of the house was covered by bushes, so they may not have noticed. Still, I had to clean up their mess, so I feel like I have the right to complain a bit.
Most, if not all, of the stain came off by pressure washing. Much of the underlying paint came off as well. When prepping to paint the exterior of a house, it’s a good idea to pressure wash as much as you can. It’ll clean like nothing else.
After the wall was cleaned and dried, I taped a painted. Enjoy the before and after photos below. I’m already starting to feel like we’re not the biggest dirtbags on the block.
Looking good!
Nice! It looks like a brand new home.
