Guess what? We got our pool floater today. I’ve been waiting all season to find out what the temperature of the pool is and now I know. The pool floater (chlorine dispenser) has a little mini thermometer built into it. It’s pretty cool.
The current reading says that the pool is 68 degrees, which is about 30 degrees higher than what I thought it was. Needless to say, it’s still pretty cold, but nowhere near what it was two weeks ago. Back then, I managed to step into the water and wade waist high. I felt my heart skip a few beats, got lightheaded and ran out of the pool. I’m no Polar Bear Club kind of guy. Today though, things are fine (still a challenge to get in) and we are swimming like crazy. Especially Laura. Little dolphin that one is.
We also received the chlorine tablets we were waiting for. Up to now, the chlorine in the pool has been very low, but I’ve been keeping things alive (or dead) with the granules we had on hand. Two days ago though, we noticed the water turning slightly green again so we had to add some shock. Now that we have the tablets and the dispenser, we can keep the levels good constantly.
