Pax Trax Motocross Park in Bunnell, Florida

June 15, 2013

UPDATE: I recently posted a video of the track at the bottom of this page. I took it the day I took the rest of the photos.

My man, Pete, called me the other day telling me that his son was going to be practicing this Saturday for a motocross race at Pax Trax Motocross Park in Bunnell, FL this Sunday. He wanted to know if I was interested in stopping by the track to watch his mini-man practice. I told him that I was, but only for one of the days. I picked today (Saturday) because I had a feeling tomorrow’s race was going to be crowded. I’m not a crowd lover, but I did want to see the track, as well as little Dominic race around. Pete’s been telling me about this whole area of his life for months now and for me to miss this weekend wouldn’t have been friendly.

The track is located in Bunnell, which if you weren’t aware, is right next to Palm Coast. I actually thought it was in Palm Coast, but then again, I’m not really sure of borders and boundaries around here yet. Either way, the track is pretty awesome. I looked at it on Google Earth a few times already, but that doesn’t do it much justice. In person, it’s much larger. And unbeknownst to me, there are actually three tracks – one for beginners, one for intermediate riders and one for advanced. The pictures I’m going to post below are of all three. You’ll know the advanced track by the size of the bikes.

What’s cool about this track is that you can walk out on it. And that’s great for photography, because there’s only so much you can do from the one angle the stands offer. Pete kept telling me that we can go up on the stands and I kept telling him, “It’s about the angles, man!” I’m not sure he heard me because these bikes were pretty loud.

Check out the pictures below. Let me know what you think.
