Alright, we finished painting one room in the house. Only eight more to go. The dining room, living room, kitchen, two bathrooms and three bedrooms. We also have to paint the entire exterior of this house. All this painting is going to take some time.
When I was using the roller to paint the stucco siding inside the Florida room yesterday, I said to myself, “boy, this isn’t all too much fun.” The problem was the rolling the roller in the pan and then painting the wall, only to repeat – an infinite amount of times. I’ve painted enough rooms in my life to realize that this method is flawed.
Back a few months ago, I recall my good buddy, Mersh, mentioning something about some sort of an “auto-feed” paint roller system. He told me that if I ever had to do any painting, don’t waste my time with a regular roller. Go straight for the auto-feed roller. He said that he’s used them and you can paint a room lickety split. Since I find myself in a situation of having to paint a whole lot of surface area, I am willing to give this type of apparatus a try. Anything would be better than me constantly re-rolling the roller in the pan.
Since we decided on a new color to paint the rest of the house, but didn’t have any paint, I found it necessary to run back out to Lowe’s again. And please remember that this is exactly what I did not want to do with this house. I do it all grudgingly.
By the way, here’s the new color of the paint.
Before I arrived at the store, I had done a bit of research on automatic paint rollers. I fond one that I thought the rest of the world used. It was available on Amazon as well as the Lowe’s website. I figured I would just pick up this turbo roller when I bought the paint.
Wagner TurboRoll Powered Paint Roller
When I arrived at the store and asked about the Wagner product, I was informed that the TurboRoll was not in stock. Instead, they offered something called the…
HomeRight PaintStick EZ-Twist Paint Roller
This model is pretty much the same as the TurboRoll, but it’s not battery operated. When I need more paint, I have to twist the handle as opposed to simply pushing a button. Oh well, at least they had something other than regular rollers.
I haven’t used the PaintStick yet, but I did take a few pictures of various parts. I’ll let you know how it goes after I paint with it a little. I sure hope it works as well as the cheesy commercial claims.
