I was driving home the other night and just had to take this picture. I bank in a small town had a large sign hanging in the front of their shop. It says, “Now Open On Saturdays.”
I started thinking, “Wow, what a concept!!! I want to meet the person who thought of this novel idea and shake their hand. Now, people don’t have to take a day off of work to do one little chore.”
What is wrong with some people? Is it not a widely known fact that traditional banking hours are a true pain in the ass? Is it a secret that the competition, that is open all hours of the night, on the web and on the phone are eating these little bank alive? What exactly is the problem?
Ok, here is a subtle message for all of the small town banks out there…You are losing to the competition because of your lazy hours. It’s not that hard to figure out. The year is 2007 and this little bank is just now bragging about being open on Saturdays?
I have a friend who owns and operates a one-man tree service. He gets calls at midnight and answers them. Is it too much to expect that a bank that employes a fair amount of people be open on the busiest errand running day of the week?
