It’s around week two right now, but this is pretty big news as far as software downloads go. In one week, there were 1.5 million downloads of Microsoft Security Essentials. That’s pretty damn good.
I’ll tell you why so many people took Microsoft up on their offer…because they are sick and tired of paying way too much for anti-virus software. It’s that simple. Even if Microsoft Security Essentials isn’t as comprehensive as other big name brands yet, people are willing to start using it now, simply to stick it to the companies that are really raking it in. Well, that’s my view anyway.
I can tell you this, as long as this free anti-virus is available, you won’t find me renewing the subscription on what I am currently using.
