We have, what I suspect is, the first sign of Spring. Today I present to you buds of the mighty Magnolia Stellata.
This bush or shrub, call it what you will, is only a mere four feet tall. It’s actually been the same size for the almost five years we’ve been living in this house. Either it’s some sort of a dwarf tree or it’s simply decided to stop growing. Either way, it’s got buds on it.
I’m not sure when these decided to pop out, but since the weekend was sunny and somewhat warm, we were outside enough to take notice. We also noticed a few Daffodils and Bailey’s Gold starting to sprout from the ground, but pictures of those two plants didn’t bear anything worth posting. What is worth posting is Laura’s pictures of the Magnolia buds. Enjoy.
