I want you to click through to one of my previous posts before you look at the pictures I’m going to show you below. Go ahead – click here and take a look at what we were doing just a few months ago. Just be sure to click the “back” button after you’re done.
Okay, did you see those pictures? I just went over that post and I got butterflies in my stomach. I was looking at all the snow we had this past Winter and I really can’t wait for it to roll around again. I just hope we get as much as we did last year. It was quite the pip. This time though, I’m getting a really kick-ass snowblower. I was caught off-guard and I intend to be at my best next time as opposed to walking outside with shoulders slumped – shovel in hand. We had a great time though. Most snow we’ve experienced in our lives. Exciting!
Late Spring is upon us. The landscape is quite different now. We’ve got tall grass, a semi-warm pool that’s getting tons of use, mosquitoes, black flies and those cool Maine nights. I’m still astonished at the whole thing. The places life can bring you…
I was looking through Laura’s camera for some pictures for my next post and came across these. I figured I’d post them in juxtaposition (you like that?) to the post I mentioned above. The one about Winter. The pictures below have to do with Summer – or late Spring. Since we arrived in November, we haven’t seen the trees like this yet. Things have become rather “thick” out there. The house in warm, the air is humid and did I mention, the grass is high? That’s my own personal rebellion. Just like I told the guy today, who sold us this house, I intend on only mowing what I want to mow. For five years, I lived in one of those neighborhoods where everyone had to mow their grass in synchronicity and I don’t intend to do that again. Like I mentioned to him this morning, “I didn’t move to Maine to impress the neighbors.” I’ll be the guy on the road whose got the Dandelions white and puffy, swaying at two feet tall.
Anyway, check out these pictures of trees with leaves on them. This is what they look like on June 9th.
