Good news. I finally remembered to bring my camera in last night. I handed it to Christy and she took it from there. Took it so far that I have at least 200 really good pictures of training from last night. I edited them slightly – cropping and stuff like that and then saved them in a folder. I also uploaded them to an album for later use.
Since I’m not in all the pictures, you won’t see them all on this blog. I’m limiting the ones I upload to the ones that feature me. I’m pretty sure people out there don’t want photos of them unknowingly floating around. And, of course, I’m not going to upload them all at the same time. Perhaps themes or something like that.
With that said, tonight’s theme is going to be drilling with Kevin. You’ll see in the photos below that he is very relaxed and takes his time to defeat me. But, the good thing about Kevin is that he tells you how to defend against what he just did to win. Pretty sweet.
The majority of the pictures below are of an open guard passing drill. The top guy has to try to pass open guard, only getting one grip to begin with. He has to pass guard and the guy on bottom has to either sweep or submit. It’s fairly straight forward, but you’d be surprised at how difficult this drill really is. I have an extremely tough time with it because I’m just not very good at passing open guard yet. But I’ll get there.
