Tonight is all about back. I intend to put much more focus on taking back from guard as well as allowing partners to take my back in order to practice my escapes. Also, if I see someone go to turtle, I would like to practice taking back from there as well. I may even throw in a Berimbolo setup here and there if the occasion arises.
If I get my back taken, I’d like to hang out in that position for a few seconds, just to analyze and get comfortable with where I am. I want to see what my opponent attempts to do and I’d like to play defense. Then, I’d like to try a few escapes. I have three in mind. Two that I posted here and the third is from Jiu-Jitsu University.
I’m bringing my camera up to class tonight, so I hope to get some pictures up on this blog asap. I know it’s been somewhat “media-light” and I really intend on fixing that. After all, blogs are a heck of a lot better when they offer pictures and video.
