The more I mention Marcio Stambowsky down here in Florida, the more I get, “Isn’t he the guy who does all the Ginastica Natural for BJJ?” “Yeah, and I had to do it once. It ain’t that easy. He just makes it look easy.”
There used to be a video of Marcio going over some of his moves on Youtube, but I can’t seem to find it. It’s weird, because I’m sure it was there. I watched it. I believe it was put out by BJJ Weekly or something like that. (Wait, here it is. It was removed.)
Even if the video was taken down, that doesn’t change the fact that Ginastica Natural For Jiu-Jitsu is gaining traction. Each year, I hear more and more about it. The whispers turn into talk that turns into conversation. Right now though, I think it’s still in the stages of, “Have you heard about this stuff?” “Yeah, I know a guy who knows a guy who…” You get the picture. It’s a rarity to actually know someone personally who regularly trains with Ginastica Natural.
I read a post today put out by Bjj Eastern Europe that goes over all the benefits one can reap from this style of warm up.
Benefits of Ginastica Natural For Jiu-Jitsu
I’d like to get into this more. Like I said above, I’ve had limited exposure, but if what they say is true – that it adds “creativity” and “feeling” to the way you roll, I’m in. I’m all about that.
Read the article. It’s good and it’ll give you some insight into the world of Ginastica Natural. It’ll also show you some of the bigger names who’ve gotten involved and who have made it part of their BJJ lives.
