Gardman Fruit Cage To Keep the Animals Out

June 29, 2013

Not that we’ve had any issues with animals eating our plants – well, let me correct that quickly here – we’ve had some birds eating my blueberries, but otherwise, the animals around here have been behaving rather well. They haven’t caused any damage to our tomato, pea, bean plants, etc…But I still worry. I worry about waking up one morning, after investing way too much time into what we planted this year, to see small brown and green stumps in the place of once thriving tomato bushes.

I bought a Gardman fruit cage to quell my fears. From the pictures on Amazon, it didn’t look all too great. I bought it anyway because I didn’t really have any other options. I had to protect the plants and I didn’t want to building anything permanent. This seemed to fit the bill.

It’s actually much more quality than I expected. The tubes are metal and the connections strong. The netting is okay, once you get the hang of it and I really think the whole thing is going to work out well. I even took some pictures of it for you. I also took a few pictures of our cantaloupe and papaya seedlings that I have absolutely no idea what we’re going to do with.

Wow your fruit cage looks really good! I had to set mine up to protect my fruit from my meddlesome bunnies. My small fruit cage from twowest has made sure that they’re not eating anything they shouldn’t be!
