The strawberry plants that we ordered a few weeks ago promised to offer “rapid growth” once planted and watered. Since I’m fairly new at gardening, I had no idea what rapid growth meant. Now I do. Once planted and watered, strawberry plants offer nothing other than rapid growth.
Actually, these plants have been the only things that have impressed me. Well, we have some beans a peas doing nicely as well, but these strawberries are many times their initial size and just yesterday, they began flowering. And you know what flowering means – it means fruit. Strawberries. Each flower turns into a strawberry, so if we can keep this trajectory, we’ll be in good shape come a few months out.
