When we moved in to this house, we noticed two horseshoe pits. They were still full of sand and were lined with screen (below the sand). They were in great shape, which led us to believe that someone went to some trouble to play horseshoes while living here. Which is great because Laura loves to play horseshoes. If there’s one sport she really, truly loves, it’s horseshoes. I like playing. I don’t love it though. Although, I may get into it more depending on who’s out there and how much I’ve had to drink. Everything turns more fun when you add spice to the situation.
I’ve been planning a small surprise for Laura ever since we found the pits. I planned to purchase a nice horseshoe set before Summer rolls around. I figured I could order something from Amazon and have it delivered right to our door. I would set things up and invite her out for a game. It’d be fun.
Well, wouldn’t you know it. Just yesterday, as I was walking the perimeter of the property looking for baby pine trees, I found the previous owner’s old horseshoes. What a find.
Check these out.
Pretty good, huh? I’m not even sure how much a horseshoe set costs, but I just saved something. And now we even have a story to go along with our game when people, such as Steve and his lady, come over to play with us. Actually, if they read this post, there goes my story. I guess I can tell it again if they want me to.
UPDATE: I just looked and do you know how much a horseshoe set costs?!? Around a hundred bucks! Wow.
