And who says Palm Coast, Florida doesn’t have an abundance of wildlife? Not this guy.
This afternoon, we were greeted by two, might I say, very healthy looking deer. They came from behind the neighbor’s house and slowly and carefully made their way into our back yard. The moment we saw them, the both of us grabbed our cameras and began shooting away. You should have seen it – it was like we were two paparazzi witnessing the second coming of Elvis. Needless to say, we took a whole bunch of great looking pictures, which I narrowed down to just three.
I’ll admit that taking pictures of the deer wasn’t my only motivation for watching them intently. After all, they were in the back yard – the same yard I keep all my treasured fruit plants. With all that I have back there, I wanted to be sure no one got cute and started nibbling on something. If they had, things would have been upped a notch. Lucky for them, they behaved themselves.
These deer had very good hearing. Every time we pushed the buttons on the cameras down to auto-focus (beeping noise), the deer looked up at us. I’m sure they couldn’t see who was behind the windows, but I’m sure they knew someone was there. Great for getting nice shots of animals while they’re paying attention.

They look just like our deer, whom we haven’t seen for a while. I didn’t realize they were vacationing in Florida.
