If there’s one thing I like, it’s a good Jiu-Jitsu blog. When people decide to get into this sport and then commit and fall in love with it – well, that just sounds nice. And I love reading their stories. I think others love reading their stories too, because these things are getting pretty popular. It seems like everyone’s got some sort of a blog or a log or a journal these days. Which is fine because the more people write, the more I get to read.
I found a blog today that deals with one man’s journey (called CouchJitsu), trying to make his way through the weeds we’ve all tried to make our ways through. He talks about his motivation for starting in BJJ at Mid-America Martial Arts out in Nebraska and and also talks a bit about himself.
I honestly think this is a good blog. I read some posts and found that the author writes a lot like I do. He tries to focus on the personal aspects of the sport and the emotion and motivation behind things. In my opinion, this is the right way to go. Youtube is already full of technique – what we need more of is story.
Anyway, check out his blog. You’ll like it.
