Travel & Destination

This is, by far, my most popular category for those who love to travel and find really cool places to visit. Laura and I have lived in the northeast United States for our entire lives, with the exception of a six month stint in Florida. Throughout our lives, we've visited so many incredible locales. From New York City, to the coast of Connecticut to the mountains of New Hampshire, the posts contained in this travel and destinations category will hopefully inspire you to spend time in a few different places that we've gone to. I've tried my best to capture beautiful and very realistic photographs to help persuade you to get out and enjoy these wonderful locations.

Christmas at the Red Lion Inn, Stockbridge, MA

December 26, 2007

Mass MoCa

Well, we got back from the Red Lion Inn just a few hours ago. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas night there. It was a pretty nice little getaway. What was especially nice was actually staying at the inn, at last. We have been there so many times before for dinner or just stopping by, […]

Wow, what a night. Laura and I had a great Thanksgiving dinner at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, MA. This is becoming quite the tradition with us. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor

October 26, 2007

Last night, Laura and I had the good fortune of visiting “The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor.” I have seen this around and have always wanted to go, but never did. I got some free tickets that allowed us in on either Thursday or Sunday nights. We chose Thursday because we thought […]

Tennis Courts in Stockbridge, MA

Wow, what a day. Laura and I had to get new sneakers, so we headed up to the “Prime Outlets at Lee.” I will tell you, I thought the place was much bigger. It was refreshing to visit something so cozy and nice. People were just walking around enjoying the day. There didn’t seem to […]

The Latest Trip to Woodstock, NY

October 16, 2007

Woodstock, NY

Laura and I cruised up to Woodstock again this weekend. I told her that I wanted to go hiking up that big mountain everyone climbs. I am not sure the name of it, because we never actually got to it. We drove into town with the best of intentions. When we got somewhat closer to […]

Cat Sitting on Chair

Laura and I had a tough weekend. A lot happened that called for a kind of peaceful getaway. We were in the Copake, NY area, so we decided to visit one of our favorite places, Bash Bish Falls in the Berkshires. I think the Berkshires are just great. We didn’t actually see the falls…all we […]

High Falls Sign

On Sunday, Laura and I decided to hop in the car for a drive. We crossed over the ridge and jumped on Rt.209 heading North. We drove through a few back roads in the Stone Ridge, NY area, which was nice. I told Laura that I wanted to visit High Falls, NY, because we had […]

Saratoga Springs and Lake George, NY

August 24, 2007

In the never ending quest for beauty and serenity, Laura and I decided to visit Saratoga Springs, NY and Lake George, NY yesterday. I wanted to visit Saratoga Springs because a few years ago, we went to a concert at SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center). After the concert, we decided to head downtown. At the […]

Hunter Mountain International Celtic Festival

August 20, 2007

Devil's Tombstone Sign in NY

We went to the International Celtic Festival at Hunter Mountain yesterday. It was a good day and reminded my very much of the Oktoberfest at Hunter Mountain. They had kind of the same setup and the skyride was open, so we could ride up the mountain. We took Rt.28 into the Catskill Park into Phoenicia. […]

Visiting Red Hook and Rhinebeck, NY

August 13, 2007

I am getting a little sick and tired of traveling through little towns that are desperate for income. You see the strangest people walking the sidewalks along with a whole row of stores on main street that are ready to close down. It’s almost like no one in the area has a good idea. Who […]

Sam’s Point in the Hamlet of Cragsmoor

August 6, 2007

Yesterday was pretty fun. We did something that I have been waiting a while to do…to go hiking at Sam’s Point in the Hamlet of Cragsmoor. If you remember, we went up there on Christmas. That was pretty cool, but I didn’t get all that many great photos. I have been suggesting that we head […]

New York DEC Fountain Near Catskills

I took the day off yesterday to visit Cooperstown, NY with Laura. I woke up to discover that I really didn’t want to be in the car for all that long, so we decided to go up to the Catskill Mountains for a day trip. We started out by driving up Rt.209 through Ellenville. Then, […]

All-Beethoven Weekend at Tanglewood

July 22, 2007

Tablewood Grass Parking Lot

I think I wrote a while ago that Laura and I like to go to Tanglewood, up in Lenox, MA. It’s a pretty sweet thing to do. This weekend was the “All-Beethoven Weekend.” Now, I am not saying that I am a big Beethoven fan or anything, but the show was pretty good. The whole […]

Little Shops on Beach in Punta Cana

I am going to try to keep this short. I thought I might write a bit about some of the things we bought while we were on our vacation in Punta Cana. First and foremost, if you go to Punta Cana, you will likely return with a piece of Larimar. Larimar is the national stone […]

Bridge Over Pool at Iberostar in Punta Cana

I know what you are asking yourself…I know. You are asking, “Where the heck at the pool pictures?” Ahh, yes, here they are. Actually, I only have three of them and they aren’t that great. For the sake of documentation, I will post them now. There is one pool at this particular resort. It is […]

Punta Cana Beach Pictures – Iberostar Bavaro

July 8, 2007

The next section, or blog post, of our trip has to do with the beach at the Iberostar Bavaro Resort in Punta Cana. As you can see, I have quite a few photos of the trip. Luckily, I narrowed this one down to only four. The beach was a lot better than expected. You know, […]

Punta Cana at Night – Taking Photos

July 8, 2007

Palm Trees Lit Up at Night in Punta Cana

One of the nicest things about staying at the Iberostar Bavaro Resort was enjoying their setup. It was very fun during the day and quite romantic at night. We saw many newlyweds on their honeymoons. We actually were questioned a few times by people who overheard our conversations about Laura’s sister’s wedding on the beach. […]

July 6, 2007

Laura and I decided to go on a little trip. Well, actually, Laura’s sister Kim was getting married, so the trip was important. The marriage was to take place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I took so many photos during this trip that I decided I am going to break them up into a bunch […]

Punta Cana Airport and the Bus Ride to the Resort

Entering Rondout Reservoir Area

A while ago, Paul told me that the Frost Valley YMCA is a hidden treasure up in the Catskill State Park. I wanted to see for myself, so I annoyed Laura into joining me for a car ride at about 6:30PM on Sunday. The weather was a little iffy, but I was gung ho because […]

Halloween in Salem, MA

May 26, 2007

This is another oldie but a goodie. A few years back, Laura and I visited Salem, MA on Halloween. Back when I was going to Binghamton University for college, a friend of mine asked if I wanted to go up there to hang out. I declined because I needed to study. Not really, but I […]

This is pretty cool. We went to the Pickle Festival in Rosendale this past Sunday. Laura said she saw a sign for it on the road and then emailed me a link. I checked out their site and was intrigued, to say the least. “What the heck is a pickle festival?” I asked myself. Then […]

More About the Satan Caves

October 27, 2006

I have decided that a trip back to the Satan Caves would be worthwhile. After looking at Google Maps (satellite view) and typing in “Croton Falls, NY,” a few questions arose. I am telling you, this whole area is strange. Take a look at these photos: The photo above is the entrance to the Satan […]

The Satan Caves

October 22, 2006

Hunter Mountain in New York

We waited and we waited, all year long, and then came time for Oktoberfest 2006 at Hunter Mountain. And then it rained. We kept looking out the window and checking the weather report last weekend, but there was just no way we were going to get a good day of drinking German beer and riding […]

Covered Bridge in Woodstock, Vermont

One of the benefits of my daytime employment is perks. I earned a trip to Vermont, which I took with Laura. We stayed at the Silas Griffith Inn, in Danby VT. We stayed for 2 nights, which is not my style. On vacations, I usually show up and go home. People laugh about that…so this […]

Another one of my favorite things (again) is to visit Stockbridge, MA. It’s a small town located in the Berkshires…in between Lenox to the North and Great Barrington to the South. Here is a great website to learn more about the Southern Berkshires. There are some really cool attractions in Stockbridge, one being the Norman […]

Playing at Rye Playland

September 25, 2006

Something Interesting in Woodstock, NY

September 11, 2006

So here is another catch up entry. As you can see, I have quite a few. It’s not that I don’t have enough going on these days, it’s just that I have this folder full of pictures looking at me every time I get on the computer. And then, of course, there is that nagging […]
