I got up nice and early this morning. I didn’t know this, but Laura had taken my recommendation of setting the alarm clock to go off an hour earlier. I think this is the first step to getting old. When I hit 4AM like Seinfeld’s grandma, that’ when I call it. I made the coffee […]
Nature & Outdoors
There certainly is a lot to do in the nature and outdoors and I've done my best to write about my adventures and experiences. I've lived in five states so far in my life and within each one of them I've developed stories to tell. From exploring the old logging roads and rivers of central Connecticut to learning of new trails in and around northern Maine, I try to entertain with my friendly personality as well as stimulate with my decently amateur photography. In the posts contained within this category, I write about cutting trails on my own wooded land, share photos of insects and wildlife, and bring you along with our random trips to the outback of Maine and beyond.
Spring Time In The Northeast
This is just another one of my documentation posts. I thought it would be nice to show the status of flowers budding as well as the grass and how far the leaves on the trees have come. One thing to note is that we primarily have Oak trees on this road. I have been doing […]

Orange Winter Sunset
Just a few moments ago, I happened to be walking down the stairs. Since there is a large westward facing window, I was greeted by a beautiful orange winter sunset. It has been cloudy and snowing here for most of the day. The clearing is welcome, so I took a few pictures. Take a look.
Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder
Ahhh, the time of year is here again when we all try to devise nastly little plans on how to defeat those damn squirrels that just love to visit our bird feeders. We thought we caught a break. We have had a cylindrical bird feeder with a cage around it hanging off the porch for […]
Black Rat Snake Eggs – Elaphe Obsoleta
Well, well, well…guess what I found. Today, I decided to venture outside into the wall of humidity to dig up and re-plant some rhododendrons. We had a few here and there that needed to make their way up the hill for a nice rhododendron line in the front. I think it will look very nice, […]
