I’ve been writing on blogs since 2005. I started out to simply capture a few thoughts I had about the first house we purchased. One post about a front lawn turned into another about my car. Then, things kind of took off from there. I ended up writing about anything and everything and now have thousands and thousands of posts under my belt.
I’ve never considered myself to be a serious blogger. I’m not quite sure why either, because it’s actually quite fun. Blogging gives me all sorts of motivation to do things in my life I wouldn’t ordinarily want to do. It’s the “sharing” aspect of it all that inspires me.
People ask me all the time if there’s money to be made in writing posts all day. I usually tell them that it really depends on the person. Many people can’t, or don’t want to, put all the pieces together to make something from nothing. But for those who do, man, it can really work out. It’s like anything else in life – if you put in the time, eventually something’s going to give.
I have a future posts that’s been bouncing around in my mind. It has to do with why anyone might want to start a blog in the first place, so I don’t want to spoil all the fun of that post now. What I do want to do is to point you towards a great post a read today that was written by Darren Rowse of ProBlogger.net. Darren has been blogging for over ten years and has created a company that employs others – all from his genius. That’s impressive and I envy those who can accomplish something like that.
Give his post a thorough read. It’s full of good information and if you’re interested in this kind of stuff, it just may make you a few bucks.
