This is pretty exciting. Atlas Shrugged, the movie, is actually going to happen. It’s one of those things you hold your breath for and wait for something to derail it (no pun intended).
I am almost finished with my ethics book and have some opinions on it. Actually, I have some opinions on everything, but they may never see the light of day. They are too confusing and would exhaust me to write about them. Let’s just say that Western Philosophy has its drawbacks. Let’s also say that there are way too many people out there drooling over the stuff. It’s very human and preys on our weaknesses. It’s something to discuss in a conversation rather than in a monologue. I’ll figure it out.
Anyway, I stumbled across the trailer of Atlas Shrugged the other day and started watching it. Towards the end, I got really nervous because I didn’t see a lot of stuff. I mean, a lot of stuff. Then, at the end, the title of the movie displayed with a “Part 1” below it. Oh thank you. Thank you for not even thinking it was possible to capture the entire book in two hours. It’s so much more than that.
I just wonder how they are going to encapsulate John Galt’s speech in Part 3. I did a count and it’s 33,341 words long. I’m not sure how many pages that is in the book, but I’m guessing about 100. It’s a serious thing. I guess they’ll go after the essence of what was said.
If you want to read it, you can find it here.
I am posting a few videos below. The first one is the movie trailer. The movie is set to release on April 15, 2011. After that, there’s the making of and then a behind the scenes. It’s good stuff.
