The Asclepias Curassavica, or otherwise known as the “Bloodflower” is quickly becoming one of my favorite plants. Not because of its hardiness or anything, but more because of its beauty.
The Iris or the Tiger Lily are “tougher” plants and on the same level of attractiveness, but there is something about the Bloodflower that I really like (certainly not the name). Perhaps its the color. I like orange. Or maybe it’s the fact that it looks like a weed found on a roadside until the flowers arrive. Kind of like an underdog with a one-two punch.
