Guess what? I just discovered that we have an “Artemisia vulgaris ‘Janlim’ Oriental Limelight” in our garden. Is that not the craziest, most exciting thing you have heard all day?
When we planted this little beauty last year, it was just a “smidgen” of the size it is not…that’s right, a smidgen. This planted came up pretty early in the season and has been growing ever since. I really like it because it spreads fast, can grow in poor, dry soil and looks great. I believe I read that this plant spreads by “rhizomes,” so I will most likely split it this season and plant it down the length of the driveway.
This plant likes dry soil, that’s why I think it is doing so well. We have it raised in a bed of mulch as to avoid “root rot,” to which this Oriental Limelight is susceptible.
Basically, if you like this plant, go to your local nursery and ask for “Oriental Limelight” and plant in nice dry soil. Enjoy!!!
