My good buddy, Seth, stopped by a few night ago with many a good beer in hand. He’s been talking about and wanted to let me into his world of good beers and brewing. I was only too eager to oblige. You know me and this side of the world.
Seth brought a few different types of beer, only two of which I’ve had a chance to taste.
The first beer Seth introduced me to was probably one of the best beers I’ve ever had. It’s called “Big Gruesome” and is made by the Spring House Brewing Company. I wish this brewery had a fully functional website, but at the time of this writing, all I was able to find was their homepage suggesting that we check out their Facebook page. You can follow some links to learn about them anyway.
Both Seth and I had a large glass of this rich peanut butter chocolate stout and I utterly enjoyed it.
Just last night, I decided to crack open another beer Seth brought over, but left behind. This one is called, “Ten Fidy Imperial Stout” and is brewed by Oskar Blues. Both Laura and I had a glass of this one and practically had our hair stand on end.
This was one great beer. It was as rich, if not richer, than Big Gruesome and was as dark as they come. It’s nice to see that Seth has such good taste in beer. As I was drinking my glass of Ten Fidy, I mentioned that I could easily imagine crumbs at the bottom of the glass. Actually, I think that would have been kind of cool.
We have two more types of beer still waiting for us in the refrigerator. I’ll write about them as soon as I give them a try.
