The other day, during our trip, I passed the 1000 in my almost new .

I was wondering when this was going to happen, since it’s been a while. I think I’m doing pretty well, considering I bought the on January 3rd and hit 1000 miles on March 3rd. That’s about 500 miles per month. Not bad for saving .

Refueling For the First Time

Friday, January 25th, 2008

I don’t know how many people I told this to in the past for weeks…”I got this on January 3 and I still have a quarter tank.” I guess I met my goal of not driving much. It does feel good to not know what the prices are anymore.

Well, I have bad news. The two trips to Lowe’s today forced me to put some in the for the first time. I think is around $3.17 per gallon for the cheap stuff, if you can call it that. There are about 450 miles on the right now and it has an 18 gallon tank. If my math is correct, I am getting around 25 miles to the gallon. That’s not bad for a full sized , considering I have done very little highway driving.

They sure don’t make like they used to…thankfully.

Why Work From Home?

To save .

Well, it’s good for you too, for a little while. We all need to get out of the house, but I am sure that killing that two hour commute each day would leave a little hair on your head.

So much happens during that commute. I don’t think I need to explain what here, but I will say this…for the past few weeks, I have been taking Thursdays and Fridays off. I have had nice, four day weekends. I don’t think about working at my full time job at all. This past Monday, while I was driving into , I began getting in a bad mood. I was almost to the job, so maybe that had something to do with it. Also, when I got to , my left eye started twitching. I have had the twitch the week before, but it went away over the weekend. Hmmm….

I would say the main reason to at (if you can), besides saving your sanity, is to save . Check out this website for more information on that.

This morning, I passed by the station down the road from me. The cheapest was priced at $3.11. I fear that it will go up more. I like staying and not paying for it. Also, when I don’t drive to , I don’t smell the truck fumes that I have in the past.

Sometimes I wonder what happened to the old days, when people actually used to in the towns they lived in. They had ten minute commutes. I like the idea of that. This whole for half the day thing is the pits.
