Schneider Weisse Aventinus - How the Beer Tasted

Well, I drank one of the Schneider Weisse Aventinus beers last night. I was really looking forward to the taste being as unique as the Sam Adams stuff, if not more.
I popped open the bottle and poured it into one of my trusted beer mugs. It was a little lighter than I expected. Their website said it was almost black. This looked like a darker beer, but no where near Guinness. When I was about half way finished pouring the beer, I took a little sip of the suds. It didn’t give me that wow that the Sam Adams Double Bock did. It tasted like a clean ale. I finished pouring the bottle and sat down to have a drink. I took a few sips and handed the mug to Laura for a taste. I wasn’t too impressed. She sipped it and thought it was ok. Perhaps if it was a Summer day and we were up at Hunter Mountain, it would’ve been fine, but we were inside on New Year’s Eve.
Overall, I would day it was a good beer for the Summer, if you are a dark beer lover like I am. Actually, I prefer all my beer as black as can be. The more syrupy, the better.
This is a picture of Holly partying it up on New Year’s Eve.

What you like would be a strong stout beer. Maybe I will make a stout for my next home brew in a few weeks. Only if you come down to help me drink it.
