Last night was Laura’s late night at school. This is the time when I get to watch what I want on TV.
I finished work a bit early last night (about 8PM), so I plopped down on the couch to see what was on the ol’ tube. Flipping through the channels, I came across one of my favorite movies, St. Elmo’s Fire. I just love this movie (along with Beautiful Girls by Ted Demme) because it makes me feel nostalgic for a past I sort of had.
Every time I watch a movie with some actors from the Brat Pack, I get so enthralled in the drama. Oh, the drama!!! Especially in St. Elmo’s Fire. I guess I am referring mostly to the part where Jules Jacoby (Demi Moore) locks herself in her apartment. I always wonder how people this young have such problems. Also, what are these people doing with real jobs anyway…oh well.
Oh yeah, just in case you have no idea who the Brat Pack consists of, here you go…
Emilio Estevez
Anthony Michael Hall
Rob Lowe
Andrew McCarthy
Demi Moore
Judd Nelson
Molly Ringwald
Ally Sheedy
…and here are their movies…
Class (1983)
The Outsiders (1983)
Sixteen Candles (1984)
Heaven Help Us (1985)
The Breakfast Club (1985)
St. Elmo’s Fire (1985)
Weird Science (1985)
About Last Night (1986)
Pretty in Pink (1986)
Less Than Zero (1987)
A few Christmases ago, I bought Laura a Brat Pack box set with Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club (her favorite because of Anthony Michael Hall), Weird Science and Pretty in Pink.

Sixteen Candles…way too funny. Is that classic high school or what?
